ABOUT US

Angel Robinson - Groomer and Trainer
Angel joined the Hopes Kennel "Family" in 2000.  After moving to the Blairstown area, Angel sold her Mobile Dog Grooming business and became a part-time groomer for Hopes Kennel. This change gave Angel the opportunity to commit more time on her Training career but still keep her grooming skills sharp. Her work experience has taken her from grooming and handling Standard bred horses to caring for prospective guide dogs at The Seeing Eye in Morristown. Eventually mentoring under other respected groomers and trainers, Angel established her own business and continues her education through seminars and books.  Angel specializes in the smaller breeds, both mixed and purebreds.  Because of her experience with dog behavior and training, she especially likes working with puppies, and being the first to teach them "table manners". Angel says "don’t expect your puppy to be done quickly the first few times. Whether it’s a puppy or an older dogs first groom, great care is taken to not scare or hurt the dog. I want the puppy to be happy to see me for its future beauty sessions. I use positive re-enforcement and gentle yet firm methods while working with the dog. A trusting relationship must be built between the dog and I."  Angel also offers dog play groups, group walks and board & train at the kennel. Kerri DeBaro - Kennel Attendant
Kerri received her dog knowledge at a very young age. In 1999 Kerri and her Golden Retriever, Riptide became 4H club champions for obtaining the most points in Junior show handling and obedience. Since Riptide, she has welcomed two more dogs to her family, Maggie, a Soft Coated Wheaton Terrier and Oscar, a Miniature Dachshund.  Although Kerri keeps busy with her dogs, car meets and other outdoor activities, she still finds the time to work towards a degree in environmental science and biology at East Stroudsburg University.  Having a long history with dogs and a high work ethic, Kerri became a valuable employee of Hopes Kennels in 2006. Owners can feel welcomed and comfortable knowing that Kerri is overlooking the care of their pets.

Katy Bauder - Kennel Assistant
When first meeting Katy you will notice her quite calm demeanor.  Her personality carries over to her work with the dogs. Being a farm girl at heart, she has a gentle but commanding way with the animals. When she is not attending to our "guests" she is attending to her own pets which include Willow, a Redbone Coonhound, Tonka a  Pit-Bull rescue and Poco a thirty year old Quarter horse. She spends her free time enjoying the outdoors and is working towards teaching Willow to become a Search and Rescue dog.  Although Katy is undecided on which career path she will take, she is attending Warren County Collage and will be a young newlywed in 2011. Katy has been with Hopes Kennel for a year.
